When I saw my friend Justin rocking this amazing outfit on a beautiful afternoon in Boston, I couldn't resist snapping some pictures and chatting with him about style.
Justin is originally from New York City, and works as an entrepreneur in fashion and lifestyle. He is a truly fashion enthusiast with an authentic sense of style.
Chatting with Justin
N.S: How would describe your style?
Justin: I can't describe my style.... I switch it up to often. I am very unpredictable.
N.S: Who are your favorite designers?
J.G: All designers inspire me in someways, except if you have your name all over it.
N.S: What are some of your favorite places to shop in Boston?
J.G: Bobby from Boston and thrift stores around Boston.
N.S: What is the best bargain you’ve ever found?
J.G: The vintage hat from Christys London I am wearing in the picture.
Thanks Justin! :)
Justin and Gary, enjoying the warm weather
*Fashion Curiosities* The Boater Hat
The boater hat, often referred to as a skimmer or sailor’s straw, gradually established itself during the second half of the nineteenth century as a charming item of leisure wear for both men and women and was mostly worn during informal occasions. This famous hat, loved by some and hated by others became part of school uniform (usually boy schools in the late 20's and back in the 50's as part of the uniform of the Princeton University Band). It was adopted by musicians (Barbershop style), vaudevillian performers and appreciators of haute couture.
Cool, casual, and fashionable. The boater hats are back!

Summer officially started with a massive heat wave in Massachusetts.
Smart summer choice is mixing classic pieces, as in the pencil skirt with colorful and printed tops. To accent the look I choose to wear my purple DVF cat-eye sunglasses, bright make-up (summer-favorite orange lipstick) and a fancy manicure (all magenta with an orange pinky nail). To finish the look, last but not least, my version of the "Cinderella" shoes, the clear heels are all over the place (thanks Prada and Louboutin).
Hot days are back!

I couldn't be happier when I got a package from Sugarlips on my mail box and saw this adorable dress. As they describe it on their website "THINK OF A LITTLE GIRL SPINNING IN CIRCLES WHILE WATCHING PETER PAN"... that's exactly how the dress is. I love the Peter Pan colar, and the super cute rounded skirt! This dress is perfect for Summer, it's so light and fits really nice and the print is absolutely beautiful!
For those who aren't familiar, Sugarlips is a Los Angeles based brand founded in 2002. It started with a small line of sweaters and now produces fashionable contemporary clothing at affordable prices, which are available all over the world and carried by most major department stores, including Macys, Nordstrom, Dillard's, and many more. Take a look on their website and see how many fashion bloggers have partnered up with Sugarlips, and I'm happy and proud to be one of them.
Loving my new dress!
