*Nordstrom is Cool too*

When we talk about high-end department stores, like Nordstrom, we usually get a limited opinion, supposing that everything is expensive and inaccessible. Huge mistake! The proof of this I got recently when I booked a personal stylist/shopper appointment and challenged myself to explore a new fashion territory. This was my very first time experiencing a personal stylist service. Usually I'm the stylist, but I have to say that I totally loved the opportunity... and I will tell you why! First of all, Nordstrom Personal Stylist is a service FREE of charge and with NO minimum purchase requested. So anyone can try it, from changing your entire wardrobe to just picking out a dress for a special occasion, for all tastes and budgets!

You can book your appointment online or by phone. I called the Natick Mall store and booked my appointment with Amy Swartz. Amy asked me some questions on the phone, about my style and what I was looking for, and also she checked out my blog (if you don't have a blog, you can always send some pictures of you, or your inspirations/goals).

Getting Personal:
When I arrived, Amy met me with a large smile, offered me some sparkling water and took me to the woman's dressing room. She had a room all set, full of clothing, shoes and accessories that she thought I would like. I felt very confortable and welcome, yet with total privacy. And yes, she really got my taste!
The best part of it was definitively trying new stuff, things I usually wouldn't pick and getting to know brands that I wasn't familiar with before. And Amy was always there, ready to get a different size, or color, and sharing her style expertise.


Playing dress up:
My personal stylist was also my personal photographer and patiently snapped all of the outfit pictures! Thanks Amy! :) We "played dress up" for about three hours, and I had the chance to see and try the most amazing merchandise.

1970's Maxi Dress and Boston Most Beautiful Museum






Last week my friend Helena, and I went out for lunch at the Gardner Museum Restaurant, "Cafe G", and what a wonderful experience! The food was delicious and the museum is outstanding!  If you are in Boston, don't miss the chance to visit one of the most beautiful museums in the US. Isabella Stewart Gardner, the founder, was a wealthy socialite that built the museum specifically to hold her collection. The windows, arches, and colonnades in the magnificent central courtyard were all purchased in Europe. What is extraordinary about the Gardner is the way that all the artwork pieces are assembled in rooms with splendid doors, fabulous fireplaces, astonishing furniture, and brilliant wall coverings. Amazing!
